Cory Asbury’s song “Reckless Love” gained traction after its release in 2017, its message proclaimed through voices throughout the nation and beyond on Sunday mornings and while listening to Christian radio in the car driving down the highway. The song tells of the amazing love that God has for us. Cecil Stokes and his son, Boone, have started a ministry that leads us to a place where we can show the reckless love we have received to those who need to experience such a love the most.

A Story of Love

Travelling to churches and children’s organizations, Cecil and Boone share their story of adoption, how God opened the door for Cecil to welcome Boone into his forever home. The very need for adoption into good, Christian families is a need that is growing by the day. As we have focused on so many issues over the years, adoption has fallen through the cracks, rarely receiving the attention it needs, rarely understood as a widespread issue. Boone and Me focuses not only on the issue of the need for adoption, but also tells the story of how God has worked in Cecil’s and Boone’s life over the years since the Lord brought the two together.

In the United States, there are over 500,000 children currently in foster care. Over 100,000 of those children are currently ready for adoption because parental rights have been terminated and the children need a good home. Cecil said that the ministry stands on Revelation 12:11, which says, “They conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony…” (Rev. 12:11 HCSB), giving a voice to those who are languishing and longing for a forever home.

Cecil and Boone’s story will bring you to a place of hope and encouragement, while challenging the listener to see what their part is in positively impacting the lives of children who need a forever home. Understanding that our adoption into the family of God is a blessing and a gift, Cecil and Boone speak about the fact that adoption is Christ-like at its core. Taking in those who have nowhere to go, who have suffered in many ways, those who need someone to say they are worthwhile describes not only those who are waiting for a forever home, but describes who we were before Christ. God’s love extended to us through His Son brings us to a place where we want to show the same love to others.

Your Opportunity

Boone and Me is a ministry that changes lives as it tells a true story of the life-altering choice of adoption, as it reveals the dire need for adoption in America today, and teaches how faith can bring us a family member that God had waiting for us all along. Cecil and Boone are scheduling new speaking engagements for 2020 and 2021. To find out more about their story and their ministry, please visit www.BooneandMe.org.
